  • Not so sure how vegan friendly the chef is

I called beforehand and was told that vegan was not a problem. We got a warm welcome and was told that the thali could be made vegan with a few substitutions so I went for that. Then another waitress came who raised her eyebrows and was a bit less enthusiastic. I told her what her colleague had said and got an "oh yeah" response. When the meal came, I had to wait for the paratha because the chef had made naan instead (which contains milk). Then when that came it was shiny with ghee so had to be replaced. All in all the service is good but I would really advise emphasising that you need 100% dairy free food and that you will not accept anything else if you're vegan and/or lactose/milk intolerant.
