- Not Bad
After staying in Taiwan for 3 weeks, I was in the mood for some western food. Having said that, I was a little apprehensive - western food in Taiwan (really, most of Asia) tends to be Asian-influenced. I also wanted to try out one of those multi-coursed, set meal restaurants. This place fit the bill and since we were in the area, we decided to drop by. The place is fancy and is completed with an awesome restroom and great service (there is an automatic 10% service charge on top of the cost of the meal). You get a set appetizer (bread with dip and a 3-part, miniature cold appetizer set), a vinegar drink and you get to choose one of the following from a list: soup, salad, entree, dessert, and drink. They will even have someone guide you through everything if needed. There are some western items and some Asian ones so there is a good variety. The food is also on the healthier side and not as greasy or salty as regular Taiwanese fare that you usually come across, which I welcomed. On top of that, the food was arranged in a most visually pleasing manner. As feared, their western fare still had that hint of Asian flavoring, but over all, it was an enjoyable experience and by the time we left, the place was pretty full (as were our stomachs). I would definitely recommend this to people... but if you're looking for some good vegetarian Western food... that's another story. ;) NOTE: Not all the food offered is onion and garlic free. However, upon request, even the items that they usually prepare with those items can be taken out with the exception of two (they will happily let you know which ones).
