- An interesting and different venue!
Heard about this place sometime ago but also that the vegan options are limited (which is true) so didn't rush to check it out. I like that the cafe is almost a secret extension of the pub hidden through the bar and up the stairs. I liked the quaint decor and random chairs. The battered Tofush was good (the secret is to squeeze the lemon on it) and the chips a good size portion. Our plates arrived without the promised portion of peas but that was soon corrected. The tartar sauce was good but twas a stingy portion. The tea selection lacks a range of Roibos options (Dragonfly teas!) and the cakes were all very obvious and sugary. But if you fancy a hipster style afternoon tea with a cake stand all to yourself this is well worth a visit. Hopefully they'll veganise more of what they do. I'll suggest this place next time my Dad is in town and again do what we did after eating here, we made the 5 minute walk up to Vantra on Oxford Street for their excellent sugar free raw cakes!
