  • A little bit strange, but nice enough

We came here looking forward to some nice tea and cake after reading reviews on HappyCow. I have to say we found this place a little strange but not bad. First off the lunch menu IS back now (the last review said it was only cakes but this seems to have now changed again). It's a bit tricky to find in the back streets behind omotesando hills but when we did it's a very sweet little path around the back to the shop and cafe. When we arrived it was a bit weird as the staff seemed surprised we were there so it made us think we'd got it wrong somehow and they were maybe shut or something. There were no other customers and no one else came in at all during our stay, so atmosphere was lacking. Although we were really wanting some nice cake, this was the most disappointing part! Couldn't see any cake on display or see any on the menu (which is only available in japanese by the way, and staff didn't speak any english). However, we did have a veggie burger which was delicious, although kind of tiny. The tea it was served with though was the most delicious we had on our whole trip. Afterwards we managed to get some chocolate cake but it tasted quite stale. They sold a few health foods plus some of their bread rolls, and as we left they gave us some free banana bread. This is clearly a very 'concept' shop and cafe and not sure how well it does as it was so quiet. But, not bad, I wouldn't go again.
