- Strange Concept
I agree with the previous reviewer that this place is a bit odd... It's a small shop selling frilly night shirts made from organic cotton plus a few other things like soap and baby blankets. The decor is antique or at least faux antique, which in a way is charming, but also just a bit fussy and old fashioned, especially all the old dried flower arrangements! The atmosphere is very hushed and polite, we felt like we had to whisper. I ordered the sandwich set which came with a small cup of soup and a bit of salad. I wasn't sure what would be in the sandwich as menu is mostly Japanese. Turned out to be some sort of purple paste, I think made from beans. Tasty enough but nothing special. The soup was very salty but not unpleasant, salad was wilted and past its best. The bread however was freshly baked and very nice, the only really enjoyable part of the meal. Considering the small portions and underwhelming food, I would say it's quite expensive for what you get... This place just isn't really my style, I can imagine some people would really like it though. Staff were very friendly. Updated from previous review on Saturday November 08, 2014
