- Sharkfin and birdnest without the guilt
Really a nice spot. A little difficult to find, but worth the trip. I had the Thai style fish, and a sharkfin soup. A rather ironic meal for a vegan, but high novelty. The fish was a seaweed wrapped soya fillet; breaded and fried. Topped with finely sliced pear and pineapple, a corral fungus (irish moss), and a sweet chilli sauce. Served on a banana leaf. Sharkfin soup was a mucilaginous broth swimming with 'sharkfin' bits and served with a tangy soya-citrus sauce. They also had a lotus root and mixed veggie stew served in a 'bridnest.' The menu was really extensive and had some really creative vegan versions of grotesque traditional foods. The place is not completely vegan, but anything that is, is very easily marked on the menu with a green leaf. **If using google maps, keep on walking past the cross street demarcating the location. Look for address 1, which will be at the very end of the block.**
