After reading the plethora of rave reviews, and wanting to try a fresh beer with our meal, my dining companion and I ventured forth to locate Minh Hien. While okay, the two 'mains' we ordered - tofu in lemongrass and eggplant in tamarind - were super-sweet and pretty basic, and served on saucers!!! Not enough to feed a child. Their 'signature dish', white rose, is basically a few pieces of rice noodle shaped into roses. While the sauce is tasty, how these people can charge more than double the price of a full 'com chay' meal for a mouthful of rice patty, without shame, is beyond me. The papaya salad, which was the highlight (listed as a 'starter', it was the only dish served on what could legitimately be termed a 'plate'), needed a good dose of chilli, lime and garlic.
