• Come for the buffet, stay for the hotpot!

Went here twice on my last visits to Kunming. First time was at night at about closing time. One lady was super helpful and helping us choosing dishes as I can speak Chinese but cannot read. We ended up with their speciality dish of lettuce with "mince meat" wrap and an eggplant dish. Both were excellent and delicious. The dinner was fairly pricey for China (our meal was close to ¥100) but the people who run the place really care about healthy food and some of the vegetables they serve come from their own organic garden. Upon our return to Kunming we decided to check the place out for the lunch time buffet before headed out of town. Boy am I glad we did. The spread was lovely with 8 dishes to choose from ranging from a delicious fake meat rounds to just plain ole stir fried veggies. Best of all they had a choice of at least 5 lettuces (farm to table, organic) to munch on. A much appreciated surprise. They also had a beet juice and limeade to drink. The buffet was only ¥25, with option to add on a hotpot with more fake meat possibilities and myriad of other veggie choices for ¥68. The restaurant was hard to find, but well worth it. The little store on the same level is interesting to check out if you are looking for healthy, organic products to take home.
