• Only vegan restaurants within 100 miles...

Oban is not a place where I would ever expect a vegan restaurant. This makes Itadaki Zen outstanding. Since we were stuck in Oban for a few days we even went there twice and nearly ordered the whole menu between the two of us (sharing the food, so I could try everything). I actually really liked everything: the sushi, maki, udon, miso soup, spring roles, salad with peanut sauce (very yummy!) etc. Unfortunately, service is totally unprofessional and slow (they even forgot to open the restaurant and only did so when they finally realized we were waiting outside). Personally, I didn't mind that because I was very happy to get such good vegan food in an otherwise not so vegan-friendly town (seafood everywhere). They still have no licence but you can BYO.
