- Reminds me of another place
When I found the possiblility of eating at a kosher restaurant on my Texas vacation, I was very excited. To find the menu at this place was very gratifying. It reminded me of a veggie place I used to eat at during college. Though it was not certified kosher, the local rabbi ate there anyway because there was nothing there that wasn't kosher. My wife and I had breakfast. She had an omelette and I had the oatmeal raisin pancakes. The pancakes were spectacular. Just enough raisins to give sweetness and the oatmeal made it light and just filling enough. I had hash browns on the side. Though I prefer the shreds, the firm chunkiness of the potatoes was very rewarding and they were not nearly the grease associated with common breakfast fare. Though I find organic coffee more acidic, the soy milk provided balanced that nicely. I asked for ketchup with my hash browns but was disappointed to see a Heinz bottle. Somehow, organic ketchup (though pricier) would have been socially more appropriate. Because we ate as we concluded a visit to San Antonio, I regret not being able to stay and have dinner which would have afforded the opportunity to sample the yummy-looking onion rings on the menu, not to mention the many entrees and salads. It is hoped the veggie, kosher, and general dining communities will support this wonderful establishment.
