  • A hidden gem!

This restaurant is located near Prainha, beyond Barra de Tijuca, but if you're in the neighborhood, it is well worth the trek if you are a vegan in Brazil! I enjoyed and agree with another reviewer's comment about this being for "Indiana Jones" types, because it is not exactly easy to find. But if you use google maps with the address given on HappyCow, you'lll manage. When you arrive, you'll be rewarded with a beachy themed open air spot under enormous trees, set in a very typical neighborhood street. There are about 4 tables inside and 4 outside. There's only one plate of the day, which included soup (even though it was 100 degrees out!), followed by a main plate with four items (on the day we went, it was raw salad, savory brown rice & rabe pilaf, a bulghar kibe, and cold potato and carrot salad. Delicious. Don't miss the fresh juices - the maracuja' (passion fruit) was wonderful.
