- the elixir soup was uplifting
This is an impressive temple complex (admission Y5 or Y10 depending on the [tourist] season), which includes the sacred goat that's made of different parts of the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac. The vegetarian restaurant is a pleasant enough affair, lively with noisy staff. No English is spoken but there's a comprehensive (and well-thumbed) English menu with dishes rated as 'hot acid', 'sweet acid', 'aromatic sweet', 'aromatic glutinous', etc (so take your pick!). I had peanut & tofu (hot and a little too oily for my tastes), and Elixir soup (Y26, a delicious broth including a dozen or so types of mushrooms and tofu). The temple complex has English signs, making it easy to traverse (I'll send a photo of the restaurant later).
