- One can treat oneself with this once in a while
Walsrode is a small city which I can reach by train but won't even visit once if this special restaurant would not be located there. (Nothing against Walsrode, I just don't have any bonds with that place.) If you happen to be there or near you should definitivelly visit and also if you DON'T live near but are a medieval fan (or want to surprise someone who is). This is also a cool thing to non-vegans who are into medieval stuff. And no, people in the medieval did not eat whole pigs for breakfast all the time. I myself won't visit that often because of the prices. They are a bit high for the amount of food you get but that's because a part of the money you spend on your meal goes to their own animal sanctuary. That's a lovely thing, isn't it? So you do something for the animals while stuffing your face! Unfortunately people like me can't afford that too often. For example paying that much for a small potato soufflé. But as I said: once in a while it is fine. And that atmosphere! I just wish they would start veganising their honey mead. It is the only thing not vegan on their menu and I'd like to have some so bad. In the meantime I have to drink that delicious cherry beer. Updated from previous review on Friday April 08, 2016
