- delicious, friendly and great value
This airy cafe close to the Venetian port and opposite a kiddies' playground is a tasty rest stop whilst exploring this beautiful old town. The style is traditional Cretan, and you may be served by the chefs daughter who's welcoming, efficient and vegan, which is both handy and influential. There are sometimes even vegan versions of Cretan dairy dishes. The spinach pie was the best we had in Crete, and the aubergine dish is a customer favourite. The bread is yummy too, which is quite a rare thing in restaurants there.
