• Great Neighborhood Bakery with Many Sweet and Savory Vegan Items

I have been going to Sweet Cakes for years… My favorites are the mini vegan cupcakes (which come in a variety of flavors), the vegan chocolate chip cookies, and of course the colorful vegan sugar cookies. On the weekends there are also savory vegan items to choose from, and that menu changes seasonally. There are also several non-vegan bakery items, including plain and chocolate croissants, which are among the best I've ever tasted. The current location is located directly across from the Division blue line station, at the intersection of Ashland, Milwaukee and Division. Be sure to check out the art from local artist that's hanging on the walls. Also, the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about the products. If you're just visiting Chicago, Sweet Cakes is definitely worth a visit… It's located on the edge of the Wicker Park neighborhood, which includes a number of great shops, bars and vegan friendly restaurants.
