  • What a cafe should be

This is a cafe that seems more Brunswick than Geelong. The menu is simple but with imaginative combinations, the coffee good, the juices fresh. Every day there are specials. Ask for vegan food and you are understood, and there will be a vegan hot dish of the day. There are always choices, a hearty soup, a tofu burger, something tasty with quinoa . . . You will not be disappointed, and if you go back, you will be greeted as a regular. There are a couple of tables out on the pavement, and a few more inside, but food is served quickly and there's a speedy turnover, though you can also linger over a coffee and read the newspapers - though you couldn't call the stools and benches comfortable for a long stay. Children seem welcome. It seems to have become wholly vegetarian with vegan food clearly marked and promoted. There is also a large organic shop next door, with a wide range from fruit and veg to organic wines. There's a sign announcing Friday evening opening in October 2015.
