• Cafe Check-out Staff Spoil the Meal!

The Good Foods Coop is generally a friendly place to shop. The restaurant provides wholesome and healthful food, and the chefs are to be commended for their creativity and variety. However, enjoyment is diminished by the rudely disinterested staff at the buffet check-out. Why people without the basic social skills are working there is a mystery. As friendly customers we hope for some response with eye contact, a smile maybe, and a 'thank you'. Usually there is no acknowledgement other than to ask if we need our charge card receipt, which is then silently handed over. We contacted the store manager some months ago about this discourteous check-out and she assured us training programs were to be initiated, but absolutely nothing has changed. The Good Foods Coop has been in Lexington for over thirty years and is essential as a source of healthful food supplies. It is a pity to see it waning due to employees with no natural grace or customer skills and weak management.
