• Great shop, friendly staff, average food

This is a combined bistro and shop, offering a great range of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free groceries, plus a daily lunch menu. The store is great; it's the only place in town where it is possible to find a number of items such as nutritional yeast and cruelty-free laundry soap. The bistro has a nice atmosphere (though I recommend choosing the tables in the back room rather than the front window, as its a gossipy area and lots of people stare through the windows), and the staff are friendly. They offer a soup of the day plus two mains, snacks and cakes, with full ingredient lists for all items, plus take-out if you bring your own box/Tupperware. When I went, the vegan options were cous cous with seitan and salad, and mini pizza; the former was good, but nothing more special than I could have made at home - and I'm a lazy cook! So overall, I'd say that the shop is excellent and the bistro is ok.
