- Lovely fresh food in a relaxed space
We paid a spontaneous visit for Sunday lunch when taking my nonagenarian mother for a country drive. When I rang ahead, the cafe was very accommodating about the fact we didn't know when we'd arrive, which is just as well as we were later than we said. After we ordered, the food took a little while to arrive. That time was probably needed to prepare and serve it, as everything looked and tasted fresh.. I loved my barley risotto although the portion was so generous that I couldn't finish it. I'm told the pot pie was also excellent and my mother's polenta salad and chips also went down well. The cafe is in a pretty little high street and the atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed. The meal was extremely good value, especially compared with some of the vegan and vegetarian places in London. I'd love to go back and might try to nip down on the train for one of their evening events.
