- Good but pricey
I was on my way from San Diego to San Francisco so I decided to stop by as it was dinner time. First off, the place is really small...~20 people seating capacity. Reserve a table ahead of time if you have more than two to your party. I was by myself and the restaurant was only half full when I got there. I had the fresh thai spring rolls, mushroom burger and this chocolate mint cake for dessert. The food was pretty good. The peanut sauce that came with the spring rolls was a little too thick and "gravy-like". My meal came to about $32 + tip...and that was just me...granted, I am a ferocious eater (that chocolate cake didn't stand a chance), but it was a tad expensive compared to many places in SD. One thing that kind of put me off was overhearing one of the employees try to explain seitan to non-veg customer. She went on to say that she didn't really know what seitan was but the restaurant doesn't use it and she thought it was "genetically modified". A second later she mentioned that one dish was made using wheat gluten. Hmmm...oh well. Overall I'd recommend the restaurant if you're looking for some good vegan food and don't mind splurging a bit.
