  • Underwhelming food, poor service, gave us meat.

This is a restaurant that has limited options for vegetarians and vegans. The food is expensive for what it is and underwhelming flavourwise. Despite contacting in advance to tell them we are vegan, there was little understanding of this when we arrived and tried to order with the server recommending a pork and aubergine dish. When eventually we were able to ask them to adapt it, the result was almost inedible with a far too much fermented soy bean sauce over the top. When the server brought our starters, he did not tell us what they were and so we ended up eating a shrimp/pork spring roll with fish sauce in the dipping sauce. When the taste was fishy, we asked if they had got the order right and they told us we had eaten the starters that someone else on the table had ordered. Raised the issues with the manager twice during service and once after in a follow up email and sadly received a response that although offered an apology also went on to list excuses which shows a lack of a genuine feeling of responsibility. They sadly used the excuse that some dietary concepts can be hard for the staff to understand, which may be true but we have dined in many Cambodian places where good service and staff training has overcome this. It's also a shame to blame the staff like this when we highlighted the problem with the western owner before and during the service. Would never return.
