perhaps because of renovations to Vientiane's central market i could only find a vegetarian place in the food court at the top floor of the new market building. This all-vegetarian place had basic lunch foods (eat-in or take-away), made in front of you in a clean kitchen. The food was basic but fine (the fresh rice-paper rolls are good). Take the elevators to the top floor and it's the first place on your right as you walk in the door. But first you will need to buy tickets to purchase the food on your left after entering the food court. The two women serving me didn't speak English but were very friendly!
