- Best organic Cafe/Restaurant in Punta Hermosa
My boyfriend and I went to a surftrip to Punta Hermosa (40 Min. South of Lima, Peru). While seafood and meat is really big in Peru and especially in this little beach town at least by the end of our stay we found this amazing little place called La Cosecha (The Harvest). It's not just that the owners Mariana & Octavio and their lovely team are heartful and loving people, their food ist just simply "hallucinanting". From fresh self-made integral breads by a german baker in Lima, to real artisanal self-brewed beers their food is full of healthy organic ingredients that you can taste with ever bide. My boyfriend, who eats eggs at times loved the Omlettes after surfing, the healthy Avocado Sandwiches, and the best lentil Burger that satisfies you for the whole day. He also celebrated the Pie of the day (Mango Pie) aswell as the raw vegan torta. The Quinoa Salad was delicious with black olives, pecannuts and gomasio. They even have self-made Pecan milk for your coffee if you like some. I love this place, because in case you are traveling with a meat lover, there are 2 options, too. This place offers a very open-minded approach so slowly slowly some meat eaters are starting to choose vegan/vegetarian options to find out that it is amazing. They use only organic meat and lacto products and in general most of there food is organic as far as they can find it. They buy seasonal and local organic food close to Lima and work together with supportive sustainable projects as www.convervamos.org to safe nature. We would give them 5 stars, if happycow would allow us, for their effort to bring vegan/vegetarian food in places, where local people are still slowly slowly on the way to opening up towards a more conscious life and better food choices. Thanks for everything La Cosecha
