- Brilliant restaurant
We visited this restaurant in Feburary 2008 and found it to be brilliant. The restaurant is tiny, with only 5-6 tables but it was quiet due to the time of year. The waiter was extremely helpful and suggested a number of hot drinks available to warm us up. I opted for the fruit tea, it was absolutely amazing, the best tea I have ever tasted. The menu was extensive and interesting. We were intending to have a starter and main each but were advised that the portions were generous and one main with rice would be sufficient. We were glad we listened to the waiter. We both opted for the camembert to start and shared a lentil curry with rice and naan. We were a little bemused by the honey and seeds that we were presented with before our food came (apparently eating something sweet at the start of your meal aids digestion?) but went with it and enjoyed it. The starters were generously sized and tasty and the main was more than enough for the both of us. We didn't have dessert as we were too full but there was a good choice and they looked delicious on the table next to ours. Most of the vegetarian food you find in Riga (in normal restaurants) is heavily salted and/or deep fried, I would recommend this restaurant if you want a good variety of healthy and tasty vegetarian food. It's not the cheapest place to eat but you do get generously portioned, good quality food for your money.
