- Distinctly average
Heard great things about Vegie Bar but was suspicious of such an eclectic menu; indeed it turned out that the food was extremely average. I had the Virtuoso vegan pizza (tomato and pesto, vegan cheese, spinach, caramelised onion, pumpkin, and cherry tomatoes) which had it not been for the cheese would have been totally tasteless - the base was thin but tasted of rice crackers, the cherry tomatoes were undercooked, and the pumpkin was unseasoned. My partner had the Tofu and Quinoa burger which didn't hold together and was quite small, seemingly served on a brown (apparently kamut) roll. The chips were good otherwise overall a fairly small, overpriced and uninspiring dish. Neither of us felt enthused enough to stay for dessert.
