- Fresh, local and healthy
Restaurante Al Natural offers something different in Pedasi--light and flavorful dishes incorporating locally available fresh produce in French & international cuisine. We've had and enjoyed many purely vegan and some vegetarian dishes made with a minimal amount of cheese or egg white such as a veggie and cheese tart for lunch ($5), pumpkin casserole with millet for dinner ($5) or a chocolate pie with coconut meringue ($3). Vegan options included: gazpacho, Waldorf salad, red cabbage tart, curried lentils with coconut cream, quinoa and bulgur; oat-crusted tomato crumble. The atmosphere is welcoming and unhurried, and the prices are very reasonable : $3 for starters and desserts, $5 or $6 for main dishes. Owners Laurent and Isabelle use their experience in Paris and southwestern France to invent the daily specials and to develop vegan or gluten-free variations on request. The chef has a light and discerning hand with spices, and the menu board clearly lists the veggie options. Wine, beer, cocktails and espresso are available, as is house-baked crusty bread. The restaurant has some indoor & outdoor seating overlooking a lush garden, and is an easy walk from the town square, on the paved road leading to Playa el Toro, in a cosy residential area of Pedasi .
