  • Great vegan hotpot!

I haven’t eaten the a la carte, as they weren’t open when I went. I had the hotpot on the ground floor, and I loved it! The ingredients were all wonderfully fresh and varied (it helps that I went right when they opened). My husband loved the mock meats they have, and I loved the wide variety of vegetables, some of which I hadn’t encountered before. Personal hotpot rather than communal. The atmosphere was clean and relaxing, and we got a discount for scanning a QR code on WeChat so the meal was actually quite cheap for hotpot for two. Second-best vegan hotpot I’ve had in Chengdu (the other isn’t listed on HappyCow—I’ll have to go back so I can find out the name and add it myself!), but the best atmosphere for it. Very enjoyable end to an afternoon spent at a beautiful and calming monastery. (I recommend you skip the area surrounding the monastery if you’re not interested in buying tacky souvenirs—the real treat is wandering through the complex and soaking up the sun on the monastery steps.) Hotpot is an absolute MUST HAVE in Chengdu, but most hotpot places aren't vegan as they use bone broth. Check out Wenshu Monastery to get your fix while you visit!
