went there over the christmas holidays and the only choices were from their xmas menu. i tried "vegan steak and mashed potato with sauteed zucchini and mushrooms", and was equally tempted by "tempeh burger with potato wedges" ordered by another table, which looked really good. while flavourful and textured enough on biting into it, the "steak" definitely didn't look (it looked rather like a hash brown) and taste like the actual thing, so don't expect your omnivorous friends to turn from the dark side. on the other hand, a friend who had "vegan turkey with mixed vegetable and pecan couscous", said hers looked like turkey. and a meat-loving friend, who had "pasta with sundried tomato and vegan sausage", had no complaints, though she knew the "sausage" was soy, my hot drink, sweet potato with soy milk, was creamy and delicious, and i could taste the sweet potato fibres at the bottom of the cup. it's nice to be somewhere where the default milk is soy and almond is an alternative. wait staff were friendly. spacious place, great ambience. we spent a nice afternoon there on boxing day. what i liked best was that we could sit and chat comfortably without feeling pressured to leave. will definitely be back to try their regular menu items.
