  • Small, Loud, Busy, & Totally Worth It

I'm not a fan of loud & crowded places to eat, so was a little apprehensive when friends took me to Plum on a Saturday evening & I saw that the small space was heaving with people. We were told that only large parties should book tables, so it was disconcerting to arrive & be told we had an hour's wait. If my hosts hadn't eaten there before & been so enthusiastic, I would have left & gone elsewhere, probably never to return. Luckily, they convinced me that it was worth the wait. They were right. Though a little cramped & rather noisy, the atmosphere was friendly & relaxed. The menu was overwhelming - making a choice from such a wide selection of dishes was nearly impossible. It was a case of just picking something & turning the menu over to prevent further shilly-shallying. The food came surprisingly quickly & was superb. All our dishes were beautifully presented & incredibly tasty. Who knew that the good old veggie lasagne could taste so heavenly? This isn't a disability-friendly place, which is a shame. The loo is outside the restaurant on a shared area of the building down a steep flight of steps & requires a passcode. Takeaway is available.
