  • Fabulous food but a little pricey

Tucked away at a cosy corner in Bel-Air Village, Corner Tree Cafe offers the best food I've tried in Manila thus far. I just can't get enough of it!!! I had the peanut butter banana smoothie yesterday. Vegans can opt for it to be made with soymilk. My soymilk version was thick, rich, creamy, sweet and salty at the same time. It was SO GOOD. Starters include the white bean hummus with whole wheat bread and vegetable sticks. I totally recommend it. THe spaghettini with olive oil, garlic, choice of toasted almonds or pine nuts and broccoli was a simple and elegant dish but oh-so-delicious. My father didn't find the tofu walnut burger that great, but the sweet potato fries were fantastic. They were lightly salted, not oily, and tasted very fresh. Their banana toffee pie utterly melts in your mouth. Vegans can scrape away the layer of whipped cream on top, which is what I did. Here's a call to the chef to use soy whipped cream instead, please!!
