- Vegan-friendly, and friendly in general
Coast offers quite a few vegan or veganizable options, though unlike their sister restaurant in the bar a fee steps away they don't mark vegan items on the menu (only "vegetarian"). Fortunately, the servers are happy to explain which items are vegan, to check with the chef when unsure, and to take special orders for vegan versions of otherwise non-vegan menu items (and in our several meals here they always got those special orders right). Our favorite items: • avocado bruschetta • portobello mushroom salad • purple gnocchi • raw tiramisu They also made us a custom vegan pizza with tomato sauce, mushrooms, roasted garlic and sun-dried tomato, which was pretty good.
