  • Delicious Food.

This is the second time we went to Madav. The 1st time we had Rice and dhal and Uttapum with Chutney and Sambar. We enjoyed it. It was tasty but a bit oily. This time we had Idly with Sambar and Chutney and Uttapum with Sambar and chutney. They are traditionally South Indian Dishes which are popular in my culture. They are also gluten free as batter used is made from rice and urad dhal. It was so delicious that we ordered another two and ended up spending £17 for 2 of us! Portions are small so it ends up being pricy. Most of the Menu is Vegan, apparently only the Biriyani uses ghee and some sweetmeats. They have Vegan Ladoo and Jelebi. It has indoor seating for about only 10 people. It is connected to their vegetarian shop and is a small restuarant. We noticed that some of the food is perhaps made earlier as I noticed them reheat in a microwave. The curries, rice, idly were heated in the microwave. The uttapum was made on the spot but batter could have been from the fridge. The kitchen is open plan so we can see everything. The food still tastes good. But definitely recommend!
