  • Little sanctuary in the Bali heat

I went to Zula three times during my stay in Sanur, each time having a different experience! The first time I went I ordered the tempeh in a coconut lemongrass sauce with brown rice and sautéed greens, which was delicious! As well as an acai bliss juice (which wasn't as great). I also bought some Balinese vegan chocolate, all of which are delicious. Zula is very expensive compared to other restaurants in Bali but as they use only organic ingredients, it is still very worthwhile eating here! The second time we went for sweet treats! I ordered a mango lassi, which tasted mostly of almond milk and hardly of mango which was disappointing, and ordered the omega 3 ball, which was a nut and seed ball dipped in chocolate, and a raw roulade, both of which were average. The savoury food is definitely a lot more tasty. The last time I ate at Zula I ordered the beetroot veggie burger which came on a home-baked burger bun, with a side of sweet potato chips and some grated salad. The burger and chips were delicious! I also had the Konscious Kombucha grape flavour, which was VERY acidic!! Overall, I love the savoury dishes, but the sweet treats I tried didn't convince me.
