Excellent choice for a no-frills plant-based meal. The a la carta menu items are mostly soy-based typical western style dishes (big piece of protein, salad, veg) and I order from here in times of desperation only. The daily menú is what brings me here, which is served for breakfast and lunch until it runs out. Breakfast is 5 soles and consists of a grain-based drink like mazamorra or "quacker" (oatmeal) and a massive plate of typical peruvian food (cooked veggies of some kind such as a guiso de vainitas, raw salad, and white rice). Lunch is similar but with a typical infusion to drink (which I usually don't, due to stomach safety concerns. It is cooked however and if you are ok with drinking boiled water I'm sure it's fine) and the choice of a soup or salad as an entrada for the cost of 8 soles. Possible issues could arise for some with the soups, as very occasionally they will use cheese so be sure to ask. I saw them buying the cheese from an Amish or Mennonite looking guy. Si, la selva tiene de todo Occasionally the main dish will be a pasta or contain small pieces of soy but this is infrequent. Usually I ask for no rice but if it's possible to add a small salad for an additional price and they have no problem doing it. The restaurant has 2 staff members and can get busy at times. I always walk to the door of the kitchen to greet the lovely cooks and see the big smiles on their faces that remind me what a jewel I've found down here as soon as I arrive. After I order, then I go find a spot to settle into. Here you will be pretty much disconnected, no wifi and it's almost impossible to make out much of what's coming from the T.V. over the racket from the street. They sell chia and various books. The price on chia was good when I was last there, around 11/kilo. Updated from previous review on 2016-11-05
