- Worth the short scenic drive
Upon reading the previous reviewer's comments and finding nothing else remotely healthy in nearby restaurants on a Sunday, we drove less than 10 minutes to one of the best meals of our trip. This dining room is very large with floor to ceiling windows along most of the walls. The staff was very welcoming, patient, and helpful. I had the salad special which included field greens, roasted beets, avocado slivers, black beans, red bell peppers, jasmine rice (too bad it wasn't brown jasmine rice), cherry tomatoes, served in a very large bowl. The tahini dressing was house made as all the food appeared to be from the menu descriptions. My husband had a veggie burger with grilled mushrooms and onions on a great roll. It came with grilled potatoes. He thinks even the catsup was homemade. I tried to purchase a loaf of bread since they offered a couple of flavors that were not primarily wheat based but included other flours such as spelt, etc. The ingredients listed came from all local farms. Alas, the types of bread I wanted were only made on Tuesday or Saturday. We would highly recommend this cafe (it is only open for lunch)and can't wait to return on our next trip through the region.
