The restaurant is tucked out of the way on the side of a small retail building. It is next to the Pueblo in Crown Bay and across the street from the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. The proprietor, Francine, will walk you through the ingredients. Not all of their dishes are vegan and some, which are put on a separate steam table, may contain meat. This is very good West Indian-type cuisine. A small plate is $10 and a filling lunch for me. For that, you get as much as fits in the container. A typical meal might be peas and rice with a curried tofu plus a side or two of corn or local pumpkin. She usually has smaller hand-held treats like lentil balls or Pate' - an empanada-like turnover pastry. While they typically contain meat, she makes hers with TVP.
