- Culinary highlight of a magical trip.
Having just returned from my holiday in Italy ItreMinistre was certainly our culinary highlights. Perdonone is good for vegans but this was a really special dining experience. It serves vegan, vegetarian and some meat dishes (there was chicken in the menu on the day we visited). About half the menu was vegan, 3 to 4 choices for the first and second courses. We went for lunch and we're pleased right from the beginning. It's a lovely white airy space, relaxed and the staff are welcoming. We ordered a traditional Italian soup for starters (I wish I could remember the name), made with barley, black beans, chickpeas, split peas flavoured , I think, with cumin, rosemary and something else I could not quite put my finger on. It was hearty and perfect for an early October day. Being vegan for more than 20 years I've had my share of vegan soups but I'd rank this as one of the best. For our main course my friend had the seitan and I had the vegetable burger. I'm not a fan of seitan so I didn't taste it but my burger was delicious, homemade and served with some roast potatoes. We would have loved to have some dessert but we're too full. We finished off with an espresso before heading on to our next adventure. I found the cost very reasonable, we paid €39 for 2 starters and 2 mains, a glass of wine, a couple of bottles of water and 2 espressos. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town, and I'd definitely recommend paying a visit.
