  • Taking Advantage

When I visited Demuth's at the beginning of December with my mother the door was open and the board was outside but when we went in, we were told they weren't open yet and to come back in ten minutes. That wasn't particularly a problem, so we did. The waitress was pleasant, the decor tasteful, but the food was expensive for such small portions (£14.95 for a main course that would barely have filled a ramekin). The rest of the empty space on the plate was adorned with a swirl of sauce and five marble-sized pototo cubes. What we had was delicious, but after a starter, main course and coffee we were not exactly full! We felt rather disappointed and won't be going back. The Metropolitan on New Bond Sreet (above Bloomsbury) was much better.
