  • Decent (Expensive) Food, Limited Options

I ate a Bryggjan Brugghus while visiting Reykjavik, and I chose it largely because I love microbreweries and they have some vegan options. We sat in the dining section, without realizing their was a bar section with a different menu. I had the baked carrots entree, which included portabellos, kale, and barley, while my husband had the oven roasted cauliflower and sweet potato fries. It was all tasty, but I really felt like we needed something else for a meal, preferably something with protein. For the beer, they were out of their IPA, so we had a local beer not brewed by Bryggjan Brugghus (Leifur Nordic saison, which is great). We also each had a cocktail, and those were great. Overall, I had a great time, and it was nice to have a fancier dining experience in Reykjavik, but it was definitely not my favorite vegan meal.
