- great decor, great food
Arhat temple is one of Chongqing's main tourist sites, and well worth a visit. There's a small admission charge for the temple complex (which you don't have to pay if you're only dining at the restaurant). No English is spoken in the restauarant, but a picture menu is available. Specializes in Sichuan-style (hot, spicy, Chinese) vegan food. Open for lunch (and maybe dinner?). I had mushrooms & pinenuts (Y12), Korean cabbage & black mushroom dumpling soup (Y12), corn & pea fried dumplings ('jiao zi')(Y5), thin rice noodle & vegetable soup (Y5) and coconut juice (Y6) - ok, I was hungry!! All the food was delicious, but unfortunately several people were smoking which was very annoying.
