• Lovely place right next to an awesome walking trail

This is one of my top recommendations for people who are enjoying the outdoors and love to have a nice vegan meal after their hike. The food they offer is nice and solid and it is great to see a vegan option at such a remote place. They have a lovely garden and outside seating area as well as friendly and helpful staff. The path 'Traumschleife Baybachklamm' is one of the nicest walks in the region, including some scrambling up some steeper bits but never overly difficult. It is a loop walk which can be started as well as finished at Schmausemuehle. Even families should be able to finish this 10km walk, but also don't underestimate it's difficulty and danger - inform yourself about it before you go here! Getting here is unfortunately not so easy: If you are taking the train through the rhine valley (between Mainz and Koblenz) you should alight in Boppard. Then you have to cycle here for about 20km and in particular the first and last parts are quite steep. Getting here with a car is less difficult, so if you are a group with access to a car consider taking it. They also offer rooms to stay overnight.
