• A vegan oasis

It's a real welcome surprise to find a raw/ health food/ vegan eating spot in burger and kebab-laden San Antonio. Bio Karma is a small, humble spot tacked on to a health food store. It serves basic vegan fare such as burgers, falafel wraps, gnocchi, etc. All are hand-prepared from fresh while you wait, and all the ones I've tried have been delicious and filling, at very reasonable prices. There's some flexibility on ingredients, so you can usually make suggestions before your food is prepared. Similarly, not all ingredients are always available, so the flexibility might have to be on your part. The opening hours are a little restrictive - 10am to 3.30pm daily at time of writing, then open again from 8-11pm. There's very limited seating inside for anyone eating to eat in, but all dishes are available to take out. Overall, a great spot for visiting vegetarians and vegans, and well worth supporting.
