- Best hummus and pita I've ever had
Although it's not fully vegan, I go to this place at least twice a week. The hummus with shawarma seitan is absolutely delicious - and the homemade pita is even better. A Menu del Día costs €11.90 and includes a starter, which is a scrummy Mediterranean/Middle Eastern salad, plus unlimited pita, a main, a dessert/coffee/tea and a drink of your choice. The main course options for the menu are breaded tofu with sweet potato (vegetarian), shakshuka (egg poached in a peppery tomato sauce - vegetarian), falafel (vegan) and a choice of seven different types of hummus (with pita of course - all vegan). I have been told that these two vegetarian options are the only two non-vegan things on the menu. Apparently the shakshuka is delicious and I can vouch for the breaded tofu, as I used to order it under the (mistaken) impression that it was vegan - unfortunately the bread batter contains egg. However, you should of course go for the hummus because it is the best in town and the best I have ever tried (closely rivalled by Madrid's 'Hummusería'). Make the most of the pita too, because it is something special! If you don't fancy going for a Menu del Día, the fucasa is also delicious and apparently fully vegan.
