- Great deal!
When I was in Berlin I asked the happy cow app: which vegan restaurant is the closest to my hotel? The answer was: Boussi Falafel. So I choose this venue purely based on the location, rather than on the food. But... after having eaten here I would certainly choose Boussi Falafel for the quality of the food as well! This is a fast food restaurant, which means the food has been prepared before you arrive. The menu offers several varieties of falafel and explicitly states that it's all 100% vegan. I opted for the falafel with couscous. The latter is a cardboard cup with salad, sauce, couscous, salad, sauce, couscous and so forth. On the side, three warm falafel balls are served. The ingredients were all reasonably fresh tasting and the falafel was crunchy and tasty. This certainly isn't a snack but a satisfying and filling meal. In my opinion, the price of 4 euros and 20 cents makes it a pretty good deal! The clerk spoke both German and English and was delighted when I showed him his entry on the Happy Cow app. Boussi is located on the second floor of the "Berlin Mall". Once inside, follow the signs to the Saturn shop and / or the food court and you're there. The seating is shared with several other little food stands (Italian, Thai, Japanese and of course German if you happen to bring carnivorous friends). The mall is open from Monday to Saturday from 10.00 to 21.00, which are also the opening hours of Boussi Falafel.
