- roadside food you can actually eat
Roadside/fuel stops are a culinary wasteland in Australia. Olivers at Wyong uniquely offers organic food, which thankfully also translates into vego, vegan, healthy stuff that a happy cowist would eat (the organic food here also includes meat). Gawk and be amazed there's a roadside alternative to aging meat pies, clown burgers and southern tortured chicken. Get a cup of green beans (not old greasy chips), and gourmet vegan pita pocket. I've been here a few times, and also enjoyed the juices and gluten-free chocolate brownie, which is quite rich and dense. Coffee, tea etc. Everything seems about 20% overpriced, but it's organic, so that costs more, right? Also DVDs and other propaganda for the food-peace cause. These Caltex fuel stops are on either side of the motorway, for northbound and southbound traffic. Oliver's is duplicated at both.
