- Good pub grub and lovely atmosphere
Yes, this place serves meat but I really felt it was worth a share as they did a fabulous job of catering for a group of 12 that mostly consisted of vegetarians but included 3 vegans. You will need to book in advance though if you require a vegan meal. The effort they went to was superb. They created a special menu with three separate dishes just for us vegans, and the options were put up on a chalkboard. The lady who served us stood there so patiently, holding up the board and answering all of our questions as competently as she could. They made vegetable curry with rice and chips, chickpea dhal with rice and chips and vegetable chilli with rice and salad. It would've been nice to see a 'roast' dinner but I was happy with the choices nonetheless. It was all really tasty and filling, which leads me to the subject of portion sizes. WOW! A massive plate of home cooked food for just £6.75, you can't complain at that. A nice spot by the marina. Free parking for customers of The Weighbridge. I am of a folk music persuasion, so I really loved this pub and hope to visit in the summer when they hold a special event.
