i've probably mentioned this in previous reviews, but i tend to avoid unfamiliar upstairs restaurants when dining alone, because i'd feel out of place being the only solo diner amidst large groups of family and friends. i took a chance with changle simply because it was cold outside and i was famished, and discovered one of the best deals in causeway bay. from 2 to 5 pm daily, changle serves lunch/tea sets, which come with a pot of tea, soup, a main course and dessert - with no service charge. i chose "luo horn chai noodles" (hkd45), which was scrumptious and very well presented, and added hkd12 for a small dish of choy sum. it won't be an exaggeration to say that the crispy noodles was one of the best solo dishes i've had in hk so far. it was very pleasant around 3+ on sunday, with small groups and other solo diners. there was sufficient personal space, and i enjoyed a leisurely read along with my late lunch. i will definitely be back for the other set dishes, and would also come with friends to try its a la carte dishes (there's a minimum charge of hkd100 per pax if you go after 6 pm). this might not be the place for you if mock meats turn you off. swimming in the bowl of soup were two pieces of mock pork, crafted with distinct lean and fatty bits.
