• We Heart Strong Hearts

Strong Hearts is the cafe I've been waiting for since I moved to central New York. The options for all-vegan restaurants are pretty depressing out here, and Strong Hearts delivers great food, and uncompromising ethics. My boyfriend and I have routinely made the hour long trek from Ithaca to gorge ourselves on sandwiches, milk shakes, and pizza. The was a particular occasion where we went twice in one day. Seriously. There are a few places in Ithaca where you can get decent vegan food, but it's all made on shared equipment, in a non-vegan kitchen. Strong Hearts doesn't even mess around with the middle road. This is a restaurant for vegans who get it. At this point I don't think there's anything on the menu that we haven't tried, and it's all amazing. In addition to the food, these guys are super friendly, always welcoming and not the least bit pretentious. They seem genuinly excited that you are in their restaurant. And where are you going to find another restaurant in central NY that is not only all-vegan, but uses all compostable materials. The haters need to get some perspective. I'm going to keep going to Strong Hearts as long as they're in business. Everyone else should do the same or risk losing yet another vegan restaurant which I'm sure will be replaced by someplace far less sympathetic to the cause.
