- A West Island Haven
Without Health Tree I'm not sure there would be any point to living in the West Island district of Montreal. Surprisingly it is one of the only establishments within this part of Montreal that truly caters to the health/humane - especially vegetarians - and eco-conscious among us. Health Tree has been serving a community that desperately needs it over the past 20 years. While Health Tree is not an outstanding health food/product store it is certainly satisfactory at the very least. From nutritional supplements to personal care and hygiene products to eco-friendly cleaning products, household items and pet food the selection is impressive. In respect to selection of food Health Tree kind of misses the mark. I get the impression that it is not their aim to be a top notch grocer. Still, they do have a fair variety of organic produce along with organic dairy and meat plus many specific vegetarian and vegan-friendly items. All in all, Health Tree deserves a 3 out of 5 rating on the Island of Montreal but considering its distance from downtown and any other health food/product store I happily give it a 4 on 5.
