  • Best-value Meal in Hsinchu

This is a charming, authentic Japanese ramen restaurant. Food is delicious, and prices very reasonable for such fresh, quality food. A delicious tofu entree, spicy ramen and a dessert come to about NT300 - perfectly reasonable for food this good and half what the same meal would cost in Taipei. The interior is clean and simple with a pleasant Japanese touch. The owner is vegan and clearly passionate about serving good quality Japanese food. He also speaks English, and since he's the chef he will usually be there, so it's possible to call ahead to reserve a table - a good idea during busy times I guess. Bar seating for one or two is usually available (sometimes with a short wait) but for tables for groups I recommend reserving in advance. If you want the best meal available in Hsinchu go to Miracle Greenhouse. But for a simple, delicious, healthy meal, you can't beat Tzung Ye. Updated from previous review on 2015-12-09
